# Liverpool: Journalist says Jude Bellingham price tag is an ‘obstacle’

### The Lowdown: Bellingham continues to impress

The 19-year-old is an unbelievable talent who is widely expected to join a new club next summer, as his time in Germany reaches a natural conclusion.

Bellingham scored in Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat away to Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday night, producing a good performance against the English champions and further enhancing his reputation.

Liverpool have been continually [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/liverpool-reds-set-to-battle-real-madrid-for-jude-bellinghams-signature/) with a move for the midfielder for many months and a new update has now emerged.

### The Latest: Journalist makes Liverpool claim

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/brunoandrd/status/1570426738672373764?s=20&t=mVjWx5q14F2dZQbE7aA_xg) on Thursday, Bruno Andrade of UOL said that the Reds definitely hold an interest in Bellingham, but his more than €100million (£87m) price tag is an issue:

### The Verdict: Still feels likely

While Bellingham will clearly cost a huge amount of money, it is still easy to envisage him in a Liverpool shirt next season, with the Englishman and the Reds seemingly a perfect fit.

Jurgen Klopp’s men would certainly need to secure Champions League football for it to happen, however, following a rocky start to their [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) campaign.

There will clearly be huge competition for Bellingham’s signature, but with Liverpool likely to focus on a marquee midfield signing, he is surely the man Klopp is eyeing up more than anyone.
