# Liverpool: Reds could sign Gleison Bremer for cut-price fee

**Reported Liverpool transfer target Gleison Bremer could be available for as little as €25million (£20.8m) this summer, according to a new transfer update.**

### The Lowdown: Bremer rumours rife

Few players have been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-news/bremer-transfer-latest-lfc-ready-fight/) with a move to the Reds more regularly than the Brazilian in recent weeks, with a potential summer transfer on the cards.

Bremer has excelled for Torino this season, standing tall at the heart of the defence and producing a string of impressive performances, averaging [3.4 interceptions and 3.9 clearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/339875/Show/Bremer) per match in Serie A.

### The Latest: Fresh update emerges

According to [*Tuttosport*](https://www.tuttosport.com/) \[via [*Sport Witness*](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-can-sign-clubs-star-little-e25m-worth-least-twice-much-priceless/)\], Bremer could be available for just £20.8million, with his current Torino deal [expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bremer/profil/spieler/516716) in the summer of 2024.

The report describes him as ‘one of the best centre-backs in Europe this season’, and this a pretty considerable drop (38%) from the [£33.7m quoted](https://www.forbes.com/sites/manuelveth/2022/02/22/bayern-munich-can-44m-rated-bremer-replace-niklas-sle/?sh=1350c3b02e11) when Bayern Munich were interested earlier this year.

### The Verdict: Gomez future key

The strength of Liverpool’s interest could ultimately come down to Joe Gomez’s future at Anfield, with the Englishman [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/liverpool-fc-transfer-rumours/liverpool-journalist-drops-joe-gomez-exit-update/) with a move away ahead of the World Cup later this year.

If he moves on, a space would open up in the squad, not to mention a fee received for Gomez, which could pave the way for Bremer taking his place.

If that happened, the 25-year-old may have to accept not being first-choice week in, week out, however, with Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate both strong partners for Virgil van Dijk.
