# Liverpool reportedly in transfer tussle for Milner replacement, £20.8m will get deal done

**James Milner at left-back has been one of big talking points among Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the Englishman’s adaptation to play yet another role leading to one Liverpudlian quipping: “give him two games in goal and he’ll be better than Simon Mignolet”.**

Alas, it seems that Jurgen Klopp is planning to shift the converted midfielder out of his backline next term with Schalke’s Sead Kolasinac, according to [Bild](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/sead-kolasinac/wettbieten-um-kolasinac-50932326.bild.html), a target, and now [Cadena SER](https://cadenaser.com/ser/2017/03/21/deportes/1490108377_616227.html) have weighed in, revealing that Theo Hernandez of Atletico Madrid is also wanted.

The 19-year-old Frenchman is currently on loan at Alaves, where he has impressed with his direct running and energy.

His spell with the Babazorros ends in a few months’ time, but his return to Atleti may be short-lived with a host of big clubs supposedly looking at him, including Real Madrid.

Liverpool are mentioned by [Cadena SER](https://cadenaser.com/ser/2017/03/21/deportes/1490108377_616227.html) as suitors for the youngster, who has a release clause of €24m (£20.8m) in his contract that would remove the Rojiblancos’ potential desire to keep him from the equation should the Reds trigger it.
