# Liverpool reportedly ‘keen’ on £27m-rated attacker with summer transfer battle expected

***The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are focusing on their side’s clash with Maribor this evening.*** The game represents a great chance for the Reds to build some confidence after a tough few weeks, and so supporters are expecting a dominant win. However, the latest reports filtering into the pub will no doubt catch the attention of the Liverpool fans in attendance.

[According to the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/31/barcelona-rival-arsenal-thomas-lemar-next-year/), Liverpool are [reportedly](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/31/barcelona-rival-arsenal-thomas-lemar-next-year/) ‘keen’ on Monaco attacker Thomas Lemar, who was touted with a big move away from his club over the summer. Another summer race could be on the cards at the end of the season, too, with [the Telegraph noting](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/31/barcelona-rival-arsenal-thomas-lemar-next-year/) that the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona are also interested.

In truth, it’s beginning to look like a bit of a battle is on the cards at the end of the campaign, with Lemar clearly attracting a lot of suitors. Having impressed in the French top flight with his goals, electric pace and incredible technical ability, it’s no real surprise that a top side like Liverpool are keen to get involved.

Lemar, [who is rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thomas-lemar/profil/spieler/205562), is just 21-years-old, and so there is a lot of room to improve, and the fans in the Transfer Tavern think that Klopp would be able to turn him into one of Europe’s best.

***Landlord’s Verdict***

Lemar has already bagged 3 assists and 1 goal this season in addition to the 9 goals and 10 assists that he bagged last term.

In truth, he seems to be getting better and better, and a big move abroad appears inevitable.

It won’t be easy for Liverpool, and any move could depend on the future of Philippe Coutinho, but there’s no doubting that he would make a massive impact in England.
