# Liverpool: Some fans weren’t impressed with Martin Tyler’s commentary on Saturday

**Mohamed Salah [scored twice for Liverpool](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-arsenal/408004) in their 3-1 win over Arsenal on Saturday, taking him to [three goals for the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148455/wettbewerb/GB1/saison/2019) in the Reds’ first three Premier League games.**

The Egypt forward converted a penalty early in the second half and soon followed it up with a superb solo effort to put Liverpool 3-0 ahead before Lucas Torreira’s late consolation goal for the Gunners. \[[via Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-arsenal/408004)\]

On Twitter, Liverpool fan [@ftbljosh](https://twitter.com/ftbljosh/status/1165522032664154113) posted a video of Salah’s second goal with the added opinion that “[Martin Tyler needs to retire and go on holiday.](https://twitter.com/ftbljosh/status/1165522032664154113)”

Tyler, who was commentating on the match for Sky Sports, didn’t discernibly raise his voice after the Liverpool forward finished off the move, even if he did use the words “[superb Salah](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDCnjdMisEg)” and “[sensational](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDCnjdMisEg)” in the immediate aftermath of the goal. \[[via Sky Sports Football on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDCnjdMisEg)\]

The commentator angered some Reds supporters in 2015 when he exclaimed “[Oh yes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUPNBV3XZV0)” in response to [Anthony Martial’s goal on his Manchester United debut](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34160795) against Liverpool, as reported by [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-martin-tylers-martial-10046078).

Over the weekend, these Liverpool fans on Twitter were unimpressed with a perceived lack of reaction from Tyler to Salah’s second goal against Arsenal:

> why is he still allowed to commentate on LFC games. he clearly doesn’t enjoy it and we don’t enjoy listening to it

> After they scored in the 85th min, he got more excited about that goal which was a consolation then any of our goals. Then after that despite us having a 2 goal lead and being comfortable said “the Kop are now nervous”.
