# Liverpool star set to finally depart Anfield

![Mario Balotelli](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Mario-Balotelli-500x321.jpg)In a deal that has looked inevitable all summer, it has just been a question of where the flamboyant star will go, it today seems Mario Balotelli’s departure out of Anfield is fast approaching.

Many Serie A clubs have been touted as lodging interest in the star striker, including the likes of Lazio and Bologna.

However, today, [the Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3208143/AC-Milan-confirm-Mario-Balotelli-loan-talks-Liverpool-chief-Adriano-Galliani-warns-absolutely-chance.html) are reporting that the striker who divides opinion across the land is on the verge of a loan move back to AC Milan.

Having lit up Euro 2012, Super Mario has always struggled for a consistent run in domestic football, and has never really featured as a first choice player under the pragmatic Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool had signed Balotelli from AC Milan but now after a unsuccessful spell on Merseyside, Mario looks like he is going to return to his homeland in an attempt to rediscover form.
