# Liverpool star urges Sterling to sign a new deal

This is after Jordan Henderson had already signed his deal worth around £100,000 per week, and it was Henderson himself who has spoken out and urged Sterling to follow in his footsteps and also sign the new contract.

[The midfielder claimed:](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/4586795.jpg?admin) ‘He has just got to do whatever he thinks is best but, if I was giving him advice, of course I would say: ‘This is Liverpool’. I think this is the best place for him.’

We don’t think that Henderson’s words are really what Sterling has been waiting for – rather an improved offer from the Liverpool board – so it probably won’t make all that much difference in our opinion, and we still think a summer move for Sterling could well be on the cards.

### Liverpool fans. Is securing the future of Sterling the most important thing you can do from now until the end of the season? How vital was it that Henderson signed a new contract? Let us know your thoughts below.
