# Liverpool star’s contract talks take dramatic twist

[![Raheem Sterling](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/4501471-500x327.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/4501471.jpg?admin)Liverpool fans are looking up with massive shock on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3017193/Raheem-Sterling-s-Liverpool-contract-talks-dramatic-twist-emerges-forward-prepared-turn-180-000-week-deal.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490)seem to think that the Reds could be set to lose Raheem Sterling.

The winger has already turned down a £100,000 per week deal with the club and now it seems he could be set to turn down yet another deal – and one that is worth considerably more money.

The publication seem to think that even £180,000 per week will not be enough to convince the England international to sign a new deal and commit his future to the club – and our punters have turned away from the bar in disgust at that news!

We think that turning down such a huge amount of money basically makes it very clear Sterling does not want to stay at Liverpool and is trying to engineer a move elsewhere when his current deal runs out.
