# Liverpool to replace Suarez with Bundesliga hitman?

[![Klaas-Jan Huntelaar](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-500x281.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar.jpg)So it seems Luis Suarez is off to Barcelona and Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are gutted at how things have turned out.

But according to the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/387052/Arsenal-and-Liverpool-battling-for-Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-as-Reds-look-to-replace-Luis-Suarez), they could soon have something to shout about as their club go about replacing the Uruguayan bad boy.

It’s rumoured that Liverpool are keen on making Klaas-Jan Huntelaar his replacement but they face a fight from Arsenal who are also on the hunt for a striker.

Huntelaar is entering the final year of his contract at Schalke and could be available on a cut-price deal with the Gelsenkirchen-based side yet to offer him a new contract.

The 30-year old gained an assist and a goal from the penalty spot in Holland’s last sixteen victory against Mexico and no deal will be done until he returns from international duty.

But with £70-£80 million likely to come from the sale of Suarez, Liverpool will certainly have the bidding power to lure the Dutchman to the club should they so wish.

### **Liverpool fans. At 30-years-old Huntelaar is not getting any younger. How much should you pay Schalke to bring him to Anfield? Let us know your thoughts below.**
