# Liverpool: Fans rue Luis Alberto departure

**There have been very few players who have left Liverpool to go on to better things on a personal level in recent years, but Luis Alberto is one of them.**

The midfielder made just [12](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-alberto/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/128220) appearances for the Reds, but he was never given a real chance in the side, and that led to Serie A outfit Lazio taking him to Italy for [£4.3m](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37235958). There, he has really flourished – he has managed more than 10 assists in two separate campaigns in the country’s top flight, and has even earned a cap for Spain thanks to his performances – he is now said to be worth [£39.6m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-alberto/marktwertverlauf/spieler/128220), as per Transfermarkt.

Given how he has performed since his departure, it seems many of the club’s supporters are ruing his exit – one fan even called him an “astonishing player”. Twitter page Anfield Edition [asked their followers](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1253379813118803970) who they would rather have stayed out of Iago Aspas, Alberto and Suso, and it was the Lazio man who received a lot of backing.
