# Mahrez talks underway as Arsenal weigh up stunning £41m bid

**Though Jamie Vardy sensationally snubbed a big move to Arsenal earlier this summer (much to the delight of the Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern), the Gunners could ultimately have the last laugh.**

They were dancing on the pool tables over the course of the weekend following reports that Leicester City title hero Riyad Mahrez was [reportedly](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/arsenal-transfer-news-riyad-mahrez-latest-a7152171.html) nearing a[£41m](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/07/23/arsenal-transfer-news-and-rumours-live-arsene-wenger-vows-to-spe/) move to the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea, who prized N’Golo Kante away from the East Midlands, are also [thought](https://metro.co.uk/2016/07/24/have-adidas-just-revealed-chelsea-have-hijacked-arsenals-deal-for-leicester-city-ace-riyad-mahrez-6025555/) to be interested in the winger after his stunning form last season.
