# Manchester City: Fans delighted as report suggests Pep Guardiola will sign new deal at the club

**Plenty of Manchester City fans have welcomed reports that Pep Guardiola is likely to agree a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium.**

The [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1281218/Man-City-news-Pep-Guardiola-confident-agreeing-new-contract-Barcelona-interest-gossip) reported that, despite ex-Barcelona president Juan Laporta’s desire to bring their former manager back to Camp Nou as part of his re-election campaign, the Premier League champions are confident that Guardiola will sign a new deal to extend his stay at the club beyond 2021. The news was later shared on Twitter by [@City\_Chief](https://twitter.com/City_Chief/status/1260238827320487938).
