# Manchester City: Fans go wild over proposed Pablo Zabaleta return

**According to a report by the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8856995/Manchester-City-interested-welcoming-Pablo-Zabaleta-former-right-backs-retirement.html), Manchester City are open to a sensational return for Pablo Zabaleta in a non-playing role after his retirement last week.**

The Argentine, who is [adored by many City supporters](https://twitter.com/dan96591498/status/1318307095305965568?s=21) the world over, was given a glorious send-off back in 2017 after nearly ten years at the Etihad Stadium.

Rewarded with a [lifelong season card and the respect of many fans](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3578686/manchester-city-farewell-pablo-zabaleta-gifts-lifetime-season-ticket/), Citizens may not be seeing the last of ‘Zaba’ according to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8856995/Manchester-City-interested-welcoming-Pablo-Zabaleta-former-right-backs-retirement.html), with chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak allegedly contemplating his second coming. He even [stated in the past](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/pablo-zabaleta-tipped-become-top-10528733) that Zabaleta would always be welcomed back and tipped the 35-year-old to one day become a top manager.

The likes of [Joleon Lescott](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/joleon-lescott-man-city-job-14926146) and [Patrick Vieira](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2011/jul/14/patrick-vieira-retires-manchester-city) have taken up roles at the club since ending their playing days at the Etihad, with Zabaleta now potentially tipped to do the same. As a result, many Sky Blues have been going wild over this development and are [‘buzzing’](https://twitter.com/mcfctj75/status/1318309330089840641?s=21) over the prospect of his return.
