# Manchester City: Sky Sports reveal on transfer sales has many fans talking

**According to a report by [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12090622/premier-league-transfers-spending-breakdown-after-deadline-day), via [City Chief](https://twitter.com/City_Chief/status/1313375818052116481), Manchester City received the second highest amount in player sales over the summer.**

This reveal could be considered surprising, especially since the club sold promising defender Tosin Adarabioyo for a meagre [£2m.](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-city-news/manchester-city-fans-fume-over-2-million-tosin-adarabioyo-to-fulham-deadline-day-sale/)

As a result, some Citizens have been in full voice over the update, which has come after a fairly mixed transfer window.

While City managed to land a trio of marquee signings to shore up weakened positions, completing deals for Ferran Torres, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias, the same cannot be said for outgoings.

Star winger Leroy Sane was offloaded for [£41m](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/30/bayern-munich-strike-deal-to-sign-leroy-sane-from-manchester-city-for-41m#:~:text=3%20months%20old-,Bayern%20Munich%20strike%20deal%20to%20sign%20Leroy,Manchester%20City%20for%20%C2%A341m&text=Bayern%20Munich%20have%20agreed%20to,deal%20with%20the%20Bundesliga%20champions.), coming after City [wanted double that amount](https://www.dailysabah.com/sports/football/bayern-munich-confirms-signing-man-city-winger-sane), while Adarabioyo was sold for a rather generous price.

On top of that, Txiki Begiristain failed to negotiate a move for Eric Garcia on deadline day. Talks with Barcelona collapsed due to City holding out for [£20m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/12047694/eric-garcia-barcelona-have-bid-for-manchester-city-defender-rejected) despite time running out on his contract.

Flocking to this Sky Sports reveal, these fans have had plenty to say as a result; one even compared the club’s business unfavourably to Liverpool sporting director [Michael Edwards](https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news-transfers-take-a-bow-liverpools-transfer-business-since-edwards-became-sporting-director-20200917) – you can find some of the best comments below.

> Can try as much to convince us but we are rubbish at selling players,2million for Tosin is a joke.I still believe someone with better negotiating skills could get the players we buy for less..Been always questioning Tkixi and that hasnt changed

> Could’ve been much better. Tosin went for a measly £2mn/no buy-back, Sane for £55mn, Garcia bid rejected.
