# Manchester City: Fans have mixed views on Jayden Braaf’s potential

**Plenty of Manchester City fans have been discussing the potential of rising star Jayden Braaf, with a mixture of views on the teenage prospect.**

Twitter channel [@CityChiefPlus](https://twitter.com/CityChiefPlus/status/1261043447772962823) posted a compilation of highlights from the 17-year-old, who has impressed for the club’s youth teams in recent months.

The Dutch winger has struck [11 goals in 26 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jayden-braaf/leistungsdaten/spieler/470391) at underage level for Manchester City this season, including [nine goals in 16 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jayden-braaf/leistungsdaten/spieler/470391) in Premier League 2. He has been [likened to former Etihad youth prospect Jadon Sancho](https://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/jayden-braaf-man-citys-new-sancho-set-for-similar-bundesliga/13qxgk831lfmo14iwk163gkrn5), who has gone on to [star for Borussia Dortmund](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jadon-sancho/leistungsdaten/spieler/401173) and win [senior England caps](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jadon-sancho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/401173/verein_id/3299). A scout report on Braaf in the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8206237/THE-SECRET-SCOUT-Manchester-City-starlet-Jayden-Braaf-keen-use-individual-qualities.html) described him as a “powerfully built” youngster with a “surge of pace” and a maturity beyond his years.

It will be compelling to see what the future holds for the 17-year-old at the Etihad and whether he can emulate another winger in Leroy Sane, a [two-time Premier League winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leroy-sane/erfolge/spieler/192565) currently attracting [transfer interest from Bayern Munich](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/05/13/bayern-munich-prepare-50m-bid-manchester-citys-leroy-sane/); or end up like Brandon Barker, who made only [one senior appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/214927/verein/281) for the club before [going to Rangers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/brandon-barker/transfers/spieler/214927), where he has been [frequently criticised](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/scottish-premier/rangers/brandon-barker-manchester-city-ibrox/) this season.

These Manchester City fans on Twitter had mixed views on Braaf’s future – one optimistically told Sane to “step aside” for the teenager while one dismissed him as “another Brandon Barker”. Check out some of the replies from the Etihad faithful below:
