# Manchester City: Fans react to Bayern Munich’s prospective £56.75m bid for Leroy Sane

**Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to the latest development in the transfer saga involving Leroy Sane and Bayern Munich.**

As noted by [@City\_Chief](https://twitter.com/City_Chief/status/1260606595047870464) on Twitter, [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/05/13/bayern-munich-prepare-50m-bid-manchester-citys-leroy-sane/)‘s Mike McGrath reported that the German club are weighing up a bid of £56.75m for the winger, with the Premier League champions clearly indicating that they would not accept the £35m at which Bayern had valued the 24-year-old upon recently renewing their interest in him.

Sane, whose current Etihad Stadium contract [expires next year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leroy-sane/profil/spieler/192565), was [sidelined for several months](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leroy-sane/verletzungen/spieler/192565) with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained last August but had made a tentative [return to action in a reserve fixture against Arsenal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leroy-sane/leistungsdaten/spieler/192565) at the end of February before [football was stopped](https://www.theguardian.com/football/live/2020/mar/13/premier-league-and-british-football-set-for-shutdown-due-to-coronavirus-live) amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Germany international was reportedly the subject of a transfer offer of €100m (£87.13m) from Bayern last summer, according to [Sport Bild](https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/fussball/fc-bayern-muenchen-summe-hinterlegt-neue-verhandlungsbasis-bei-leroy-san-70462974.bild.html), and the Bundesliga club’s renewed interest for less than half that figure [drew scorn from numerous Man City supporters](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/manchester-city/man-city-fans-slam-bayern-over-leroy-sane-transfer-saga/).

> £75m or no deal. It would cost us £80m to replace Sane. I rather keep him for a year than sell him for £56m.

> Add [@David\_Alaba](https://twitter.com/David_Alaba?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) + £56.75m maybe [@ManCity](https://twitter.com/ManCity?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) might consider
