# Manchester City: Fans react to Pau Torres rumour as update emerges

**According to an update by Fabrizio Romano, via [@FRBlueMoon](https://twitter.com/FRBlueMoon/status/1318904412027355138), Manchester City are watching Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres despite having landed both Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake in the summer window, prompting many Sky Blues to react on Twitter.**

Torres, who started [33 La Liga matches for Villarreal](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/344259/History/Pau-Torres) last season, is apparently on the Sky Blues’ watchlist according to Romano, with City allegedly still keeping their eye on defensive options.

Dias has [impressed many fans](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBwNVU0pwZE) over the few games he has played since putting pen to paper on a move from Benfica, while Ake has also [attracted praise from some quarters](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-wolves-nathan-ake-18974083).

However, City’s [extensive injury list](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fernandinho-injury-update-man-city-19146064), currently containing Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy and now Ake, has potentially forced Pep Guardiola and co to keep looking at potential options if squad depth continues to be an issue.

As a result of this latest update, many Sky Blues have had their say on Twitter, with one hailing Torres as a “class player”:
