# Manchester City: Fans react to latest transfer report on Nelson Semedo

**A number of Manchester City fans have been reacting to the latest twist in the club’s reported transfer pursuit of Nelson Semedo.**

Last week, Spanish media outlet [Sport](https://www.sport.es/) claimed \[via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everything-indicates-players-next-destination-will-be-man-city-great-interest-from-etihad/)\] that “everything indicates” that the Barcelona right-back would move to the Premier League champions, having also been a transfer target for Pep Guardiola last summer.

However, a fresh report from [Mundo Deportivo](https://mundodeportivo.com/) \[via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-preferred-sign-man-city-summer-now-tempted-big-one/)\] stated that the 26-year-old now favours a move to Juventus in a prospective swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic move to Camp Nou. The latest update on Semedo’s possible move to Manchester was shared on Twitter by [@City\_Xtra](https://twitter.com/City_Xtra/status/1262007963511926784).

A report from [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/news/calcio/calcio-mercato/2020/05/12-69686233/clamoroso_inter_torna_cancelo_/) last week suggested that the Portugal defender was being lined up by Manchester City as a potential replacement for Joao Cancelo, who was touted to move back to Italy. He only came to the Etihad Stadium last summer in a [€65m (£60m) deal](https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/man-city-and-juventus-confirm-cancelo-danilo-swap-in-65m/ga32ehdxuelk1qso2ayr89hge) but has been restricted to [eight Premier League starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/167/Show/England-Man-City), with Guardiola [often preferring Kyle Walker](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/167/Show/England-Man-City) at right-back.

These Manchester City fans on Twitter seemed content with the reduced likelihood of Semedo coming to the club, with one supporter dismissing him as “Cancelo V2” as another remarked that “Kyle Walker wins again”.

> Great news. We might actually try to go for a good RB if Cancelo wants to leave.

> Thank god, hope we just keep Cancelo and he gets a proper chance. I swear it’s our CB’s that are the problem, we fix that and Cancelo/Angelino/Mendy will look like worldbeaters
