# Manchester City: Fans want Dayot Upamecano to be signed amid potential Angelino sale

**Lots of Manchester City fans have been reacting to transfer reports suggesting that Angelino could be sold and duly called on the club to propose a swap deal as a result.**

According to [Sport Bild](https://sportbild.bild.de/) \[via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/want-find-solution-club-keen-sign-man-city-defender-looking-transfer-discount/)\], RB Leipzig are keen to sign the on-loan defender permanently after his current deal expires in the summer but might not be able to stump up the €22m (£19.44m) required by 15 June to make that happen. The update was later shared on Twitter by [@City\_Chief](https://twitter.com/City_Chief/status/1260644784663703552).

The 23-year-old was [brought back to Manchester City](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2019/july/man-city-sign-angelino-psv-transfer-latest-update) from PSV Eindhoven last summer but played in only [12 games in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelino/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/277179/verein/281) before being [loaned out to RB Leipzig](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2020/january/transfer-deadline-day-loan-news) in January, with [initial reports](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rb-leipzig-loan-army-ethan-ampadu-back-to-chelsea-angelino-negotiations/view/news/360408) of the German club’s interest in a permanent transfer invoking an [angry response from some City fans](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/manchester-city/man-city-fans-fume-transfer-report-possible-sale-angelino/).

The Premier League champions are reportedly interested in one of Leipzig’s players, with [Bleacher Report](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2888869-br-transfer-mailbag-your-questions-answered-on-sancho-sane-coutinho-more) claiming that they have their eyes on centre-back Dayot Upamecano, whose valuation was reduced from €60m (£52.28m) to €40m (£34.85m) in recent days, according to [Sport Bild](https://sportbild.bild.de/bundesliga/vereine/bayern-muenchen/fc-bayern-transfers-konzept-kai-havertz-upamecano-70458410.sport.html).

These Manchester City fans on Twitter demanded that Angelino should only be allowed to leave permanently if Upamecano is signed from RB Leipzig – one City supporter went as far as calling director of football Txiki Begiristain “useless at his job” after the reports emerged.
