# Manchester City: Ilkay Gundogan likely to miss Everton clash as Sky Blues fume

**Speaking in a press conference (via [the Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/pep-guardiola-issues-ilkay-gundogan-23510586)), Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that in-form star Ilkay Gundogan is unlikely to feature against Everton this evening – prompting many Sky Blues to fume over this update on the German.**

Gundogan has been in arguably unstoppable form for City recently, picking up the [Premier League Player of the Month award](https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/ilkay-gundogan-premier-league-player-of-the-month-award-63748716) for January and scoring a [brace against Tottenham Hotspur](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55960002) in his last outing.

The 30-year-old, however, was substituted against the Lilywhites as he walked off clutching his groin – with Guardiola explaining how he will more than likely miss Everton tonight.

Flocking to this update from Guardiola, plenty of Sky Blues had their say – with many fuming that their star man as of late won’t be able to play at Goodison Park.
