# Man United and Chelsea reportedly battle over powerful Premier League star

**When Jose Mourinho met with Chelsea earlier this season, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern painfully had to watch his former side smash the Red Devils 4-0 during a miserable thumping at Stamford Bridge.**

Antonio Conte’s Blues disposed of United with absolute ease a few months ago, so the fans in the Tavern are hoping for a more closely contested battle on the transfer front if reports from *the People* (via the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/767217/Michail-Antonio-West-Ham-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Everton-transfer-news-gossip)) are to be believed.

They [claim](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/767217/Michail-Antonio-West-Ham-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Everton-transfer-news-gossip) both United and Chelsea are keen on a move for West Ham United midfielder Michail Antonio this summer, following his mightily impressive few months in east London. The powerful midfielder has operated up and down the right-hand side for the Hammers, chipping in with his fair share of goals and earning a call-up to the England national side.

Scouts from both Premier League giants, as well as Everton, are [understood](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/767217/Michail-Antonio-West-Ham-Manchester-United-Chelsea-Everton-transfer-news-gossip) to have been casting keen eyes over the former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday man, who can operate as a powerful right-back. That position is particularly hard to find top-class options in of course.

With that in mind, the United and Chelsea fans in the Tavern are already dreaming about his arrival.
