# Man United braced for further interest from Real Madrid this summer

**You should have seen the Transfer Tavern the night Real Madrid’s fax machine faux pas kept David De Gea at Manchester United.**

The Red Devils in that night were dancing on the pool tables and spraying their pints over each other as the Spanish stopper remained at Old Trafford.

As good a feeling as that was, can lightning really strike twice? According to Spanish outlet *[Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/florentino-sigue-empenado-fichar-david-gea-20160509.html),* the Madrid juggernauts are ready to renew their interest.

De Gea has replicated his sterling form once again this season, further establishing himself as one of the best stoppers on the continent.

He penned a five-year deal in the wake of his collapsed deal earlier in the campaign, though *Los Blancos* are [believed](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/florentino-sigue-empenado-fichar-david-gea-20160509.html) to be tempted on making another move.

Though current Number 1 Keylor Navas has been in stoic form himself, the club are [reportedly](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/florentino-sigue-empenado-fichar-david-gea-20160509.html) on the lookout for a big name replacement following the departure of club legend Iker Casillas last summer.

Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois has been [linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/real-madrid-raid-chelsea-thibaut-7639599), though De Gea was a huge favourite in Madrid during their chase last year.
