# Manchester United: Fans slam Red Devils’ transfer interest in Corentin Tolisso

**Manchester United have already been busy ahead of the 2020/21 Premier League season by signing [Odion Ighalo](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-extend-odion-ighalo-loan-from-shanghai-greenland-shenhua).**

After arriving on loan from [Shanghai Shenhua](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-extend-odion-ighalo-loan-from-shanghai-greenland-shenhua#) in January, the Nigerian has impressed the club he supported as a boy, as he scored four goals in eight appearances so far. Ighalo has duly been rewarded with a contract extension, keeping him at Old Trafford until [30 January 2021](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-extend-odion-ighalo-loan-from-shanghai-greenland-shenhua#).

The Red Devils were in the middle of planning for a long-term rebuild before the nationwide lockdown was imposed in response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis ([ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4108421/chelseaman-united-making-transfer-moves-to-challenge-liverpoolman-city-for-premier-league-title)). Nevertheless, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not allowed this setback to deter him, as reports have emerged that United are interested in Corentin Tolisso and have even started discussions with his entourage.

According to RMC Sport correspondent [Mohamed Bouhafsi](https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1270750089909329921), as relayed by [@utdreport](https://twitter.com/utdreport/status/1270750464485834753), Ed Woodward has held talks with Tolisso’s representatives and Bayern Munich are willing to let the player leave. The Bundesliga giants reportedly want at least [€35m](https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/1270750089909329921) for the French international, which roughly equates to £31m.

Although his career has been ravaged by [injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/verletzungen/spieler/190393) up until now, the 25-year-old has played 13 games in the German top flight, scoring one goal and supplying two assists, but has won only 0.7 tackles per game this season ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/134894/Show/Corentin-Tolisso)). The versatile star can play [at the back or in midfield](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/190393).

Unsurprisingly, many United fans slammed the club’s interest in Tolisso, with one supporter pointing out his “terrible injury record” while another feels that he is an “average” player. One fan even said that he is the “Rojo of midfielders” in reference to defender Marcos Rojo’s [injury history](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcos-rojo/verletzungen/spieler/93176).
