# Man United fans will love latest transfer decision, star players said to have intervened

**With the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern fully expecting another massive summer spend, it’s fair to say the excitement amongst our resident Red Devils really is palpable.**

The likes of [Alvaro Morata](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/07/manchester-united-alvaro-morata-increase-offer) and [Romelu Lukaku](https://thepeoplesperson.com/2017/06/07/manchester-united-target-romelu-lukaku-confirms-hes-leaving-everton-183136/) have recently been touted as potential targets at Old Trafford, though reports emanating out of Spain have actually proved more exciting to our locals than anything else.

Indeed, according to *[Marca](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/06/07/59381270468aeb73498b45ba.html),* Real Madrid are [reportedly](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/06/07/59381270468aeb73498b45ba.html) ready to drop their interest in David De Gea. The Spaniard has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital of late and there had been [suggestions](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10900116/man-utd-snub-60m-real-madrid-david-de-gea-bid) the Champions League-holders had made a [£60m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10900116/man-utd-snub-60m-real-madrid-david-de-gea-bid) bid.

Considering his standing as one of the best shot-stoppers in world football, the idea of losing the *La Roja* international was a very scary one indeed. So, as you can well imagine, these [reports](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/06/07/59381270468aeb73498b45ba.html) have gone down a storm.

Keylor Navas – who almost joined United in 2015 in a swap deal with De Gea – is [understood](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/06/07/59381270468aeb73498b45ba.html) to have impressed over the last two months. So much so, in fact, that Madrid’s players are [believed](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2017/06/07/59381270468aeb73498b45ba.html) to have requested the Costa Rican is allowed to stay.

This may cause an end to one of the most protracted sagas in recent years, one that seems to have dragged on since the botched move two summers ago.

**Thoughts?**
