They [claim](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1920298/marcus-rashford-set-to-start-for-england-against-malta-as-interim-boss-gareth-southgate-plans-for-the-future-against-malta/) Marcus Rashford is set to be handed a start in the World Cup qualifier against Malta on the weekend.

After notching a sensational hat-trick for the U21 side, as well as scoring on his international debut before the Euros, the 18-year-old will reportedly get a starting berth at Wembley.

The teenage sensation is [understood](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1920298/marcus-rashford-set-to-start-for-england-against-malta-as-interim-boss-gareth-southgate-plans-for-the-future-against-malta/) to be in line for his first competitive start, with Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend [thought](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1920298/marcus-rashford-set-to-start-for-england-against-malta-as-interim-boss-gareth-southgate-plans-for-the-future-against-malta/) to also be in contention.
