# Manchester United: Predicted XI to play Crystal Palace

**Manchester United finally get their 2020/21 Premier League season underway a week after many teams began as they were given extra time off after their Europa League semi-final [defeat](https://www.sofascore.com/manchester-united-sevilla/KsIgb) in mid-August.**

They have a tough fixture for starters as they face a [Crystal Palace](https://www.manutd.com/en/matches/fixtures-results) side who won their first game of the season against Southampton, and the Eagles managed to pull off a remarkable [2-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49378901) victory against the Red Devils at Old Trafford last term.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want his side to start the season off with three points and show that they will be one of the sides looking to battle for the title. Here is the TT predicted XI, which sees United make [two](https://www.sofascore.com/manchester-united-sevilla/KsIgb) changes from the starting team that lost to Sevilla.

David De Gea has some match sharpness as he [featured for Spain](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-de-gea/profil/spieler/59377) in the Nations League and he should start in between the sticks despite now battling Dean Henderson, who has [returned](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dean-henderson/profil/spieler/258919) from his loan stint at Sheffield United, for the number one spot.

The midfield could see the most exciting change for the Red Devils as they [beat fellow Premier League clubs](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1329805/Arsenal-Tottenham-Donny-van-de-Beek-transfer-meeting-Man-Utd) like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to the signature of 23-year-old Donny van de Beek. The midfielder from Ajax is their only [signing](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53977831#:~:text=Manchester%20United%20have%20signed%20Netherlands,19%20Champions%20League%20semi%2Dfinals.) of the current transfer window so far and he [managed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/donny-van-de-beek/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/288255/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) 10 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season.

He will most likely line up alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in the middle of the park, and this trio could cause real havoc for the Palace defence – the Portugal maestro scored [12 goals and supplied eight assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/240306) for the Red Devils in 2019/20 despite only [joining mid-season](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312).

The front three will be an easy choice for the United manager as he will likely go with Anthony Martial at centre-forward, and have Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood either side of him. With the three midfielders creating chances behind them, the attacking players could be in for another impressive haul in 2020/21.
