[*The Daily Mirror*](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-renew-interest-real-7846919)states Manchester United have renewed their interest in Real Madrid’s World Cup winning midfielder Toni Kroos, who could be a victim of a massive squad overhaul in the Spanish capital this summer.

Despite still being in the La Liga title race and just one victory away from the Champions League final, it’s been a fairly disappointing season for Real Madrid overall and there’s the possibility of wholesale changes this summer.

Kroos, who was first linked with Manchester United two-years ago, would bolster the Red Devils midfield but the re-emergence of the links raise further questions about Louis Van Gaal’s future, as [he pulled the plug on a swoop for Kroos back in 2014.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-renew-interest-real-7846919)

Van Gaal has one-year remaining on his contract and wants to stay at Old Trafford but our landlord doesn’t feel he’ll get that opportunity.
