# Manchester United: Fans excited by transfer news involving Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch

**A number of [Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/man-utd-van-de-beek-leipzig/) fans have been urging the Red Devils to go all-out to sign Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch amid [reports](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-ryan-gravenberch-transfer-22921664) of potential interest in the “baller”**.

The Red Devils are reportedly interested in making a potential move for Gravenberch, but they are set to face competition from European giants Juventus and Barcelona for his signature, per [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-ryan-gravenberch-transfer-22921664). The Amsterdam club are reportedly preparing to field substantial interest from other Premier League clubs in the emerging 18-year-old talent.

United signed Donny van de Beek from Ajax in the summer and the midfielder was handed his [first major start for the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/donny-van-de-beek/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/288255/verein/985) in their Champions League win against RB Leipzig last night. Former Red Devils goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is now CEO at the Dutch club, which could give Manchester United a potential advantage in securing a move for him.

Gravenberch has been [likened](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/13051406/man-utd-transfer-gravenberch-ajax-barcelona-juventus/) to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and he has been a key performer for Ajax so far this term, averaging 1.3 shots per game and 1.5 key passes per game in the Eredivisie ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ryan-gravenberch/904897)). That form has alerted a host of Europe’s biggest clubs to his potential.

### **United fans react to Gravenberch interest**

Many United fans urged the Red Devils to do all they can to secure the talented midfielder, while a few pointed out the impact that Van der Sar could have on enabling them to make a deal happen.
