# Manchester United: Victor Lindelof takes to Instagram to voice his eagerness for new season

**Manchester United get their 2020/21 Premier League season underway this weekend with a [fixture](https://www.manutd.com/en/matches/fixtures-results) at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace, who got a [win](https://www.skysports.com/crystal-palace-results) last weekend against Southampton and therefore could be full of confidence.**

Finishing third last season was a good domestic campaign for the Red Devils, but they finished 33 points behind champions Liverpool, per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/premier-league-table/2019), and they will want to be battling for the title or at least finish a lot closer to the summit points-wise this season. Therefore, a win against the Eagles is crucial to get off to a good start.

They could have last season’s fixture on the back of their minds as they lost [2-1](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/man-utd-news-crystal-palace-now-latest-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-rashford-pogba-a9078806.html#:~:text=United%20were%20essentially%20beaten%20by,post%20fumble%20for%20the%20second.) to Roy Hodgson’s side at Old Trafford last August and they will be desperate to avoid a repeat. Victor Lindelof played in that game and it was not his best performance as his weak defending caused Palace to take the lead as he lost a header to Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew duly collected the ball and slotted it past David De Gea, per [The Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/man-utd-news-crystal-palace-now-latest-ole-gunnar-solskjaer-rashford-pogba-a9078806.html#:~:text=United%20were%20essentially%20beaten%20by,post%20fumble%20for%20the%20second.).

The Swede was a [consistent starter](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-lindelof/profil/spieler/184573) last season and his latest Instagram post seems to suggest that this will continue in 2020/21 as he posted a [picture](https://www.instagram.com/p/CFPioxmJSg1/) of him in the gym, supported with the caption: ‘Excited. Ready.’

Supporters will be hoping that the [£25.2m-valued ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/victor-lindelof/profil/spieler/184573) is ready and raring to go, and it will be crucial that he and Harry Maguire are at their best as the Eagles are playing a [4-4-2](https://www.sofascore.com/crystal-palace-southampton/hV) formation this season and so United’s defence could have a busy evening at Old Trafford.
