# Sunderland: Black Cats make Amad Diallo approach

**[Sunderland](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/sunderland-afc-news/) have reportedly made an approach to try and sign Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.**

### The Lowdown: Representative talks

According to journalist [Jonathan Shrager](https://twitter.com/JonathanShrager/status/1559256182182797314), Diallo’s representative Michael N’Cho is in talks with the Wearside club over a potential loan move to the Stadium of Light.

However, Blackpool, Anderlecht, Besiktas and Sampdoria are also thought to be interested in his signature.

### The Latest: Approach made

As per [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11125493/French-Nice-eye-Manchester-Uniteds-Amad-Diallo-alternative-Nicolas-Pepe.html), Alex Neil’s side, as well as Championship rivals Blackpool, have now made an approach to United over Diallo.

However, Ligue 1 team OGC Nice are now thought to be the favourites to sign him on loan for the season.

### The Verdict: Move fast

Given that Nice are favourites for his signature, the Black Cats need to act fast if they are going to steal Diallo away from them.

Hailed as an [‘exciting’ and ‘electric’](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/sunderland-afc-news/man-utd-transfer-news-diallo-championship/) player by journalist and SAFC supporter Josh Bunting, Diallo has a lot of potential at just 20 years of age.

He was signed by United for a whopping [£37.2m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11125493/French-Nice-eye-Manchester-Uniteds-Amad-Diallo-alternative-Nicolas-Pepe.html) last year, showing how much faith they had in the then teenager to reach the very top.

Diallo has already experienced first-team football on loan at Glasgow Rangers last term, scoring three goals in the Scottish Premiership, including on his debut against Ross County ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/amad-diallo/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/536835/plus/0?saison=&verein=124&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), and so could really thrive given the chance in the Championship.
