**Following a candid interview with [the Utd Podcast](https://twitter.com/city_xtra/status/1204343015092948992?s=21), Ashley Young touched on many subjects, including the fact that he had offers from numerous clubs to join them before signing for Manchester United – including rivals Manchester City.**

Young, who has since went on to make 257 appearances for United, winning one Premier League title and scoring 18 goals while assisting 43 others from midfield, [as per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ashley-young/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/14086), has revealed that City was a potential option for him before Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils came calling at the time.

The thought of Young in Roberto Mancini’s Sky Blues team makes for some hilarious scenarios according to a lot of City supporters on Twitter, with the majority of them coming to an overwhelming consensus that they may have dodged a bullet.

During the Englishman’s debut season at Old Trafford, he was involved in one of the most exciting title races in league history – eventually succumbing to City on goal difference thanks to Sergio Aguero’s [iconic last day title-winning goal.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdXxqWPWh6E)
