**Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared an exit update on [Manchester City](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-city-news/) striker Gabriel Jesus.**

### **The Lowdown: Jesus’ City future**

According to reports which emerged out of Brazil last week and were shared by [City Xtra](https://www.si.com/soccer/manchestercity/transfer-rumours/from-brazil-manchester-city-star-informs-club-of-desire-to-leave-in-the-summer#gid=ci02a194de2000253b&pid=gabriel-jesus-vs-rma-), Gabriel Jesus has communicated his desire to leave the Sky Blues this summer.

As a result, the 25-year-old has become a major target for[Arsenal.](https://www.football365.com/news/arsenal-most-likely-destination-jesus-speaks-man-city-future-transfer)

[Romano](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/gabriel-jesus-arsenal-transfer-agent-23958193) even previously reported that Jesus’ agent had claimed how they ‘like the project’ at the north London club, thus making Mikel Arteta’s side the most likely destination this summer.

### **The Verdict: Big loss**

Whilst the Brazil international may not have secured a position in the starting XI week in and week out, the forward has gone on to produce a fantastic goalscoring record at City; in 236 appearances for the club, the 25-year-old has netted [95 goals and has pocketed 46 assists.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-jesus/leistungsdaten/spieler/363205)

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has described a number of Jesus’ goalscoring performances as [“super”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJM_2GKZof0), whilst teammate Bernardo Silva has claimed that the Brazilian is [“one of our most important players”.](https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/bernardo-silva-praise-for-gabriel-jesus-post-real-madrid-63786676)

Therefore, Jesus’ decision to leave the Etihad will come as a huge blow to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
