# Manchester City: Fans bemoan latest Pep Guardiola to Italy speculation

**Following the latest response from Pep Guardiola regarding a potential future stint in Serie A, Manchester City fans were quick to dismiss the speculation in the buildup to Sunday’s trip to Anfield.**

The Premier League champions take on league leaders Liverpool in arguably their most highly anticipated clash of the season so far, aiming for a win that [could reduce the gap at the top](https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNQ1BRBvwyrpUVk-s7W_y1xFiEY8vw%3A1573221846411&source=hp&ei=1nXFXebOFvmAjLsP8KSeyAY&q=premier+league&oq=premier+league&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39l2j0l7j0i131.670.2236..2452...0.0..0.80.1008.14......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i20i263.icHked5xvj0&ved=0ahUKEwjmkbmK5NrlAhV5AGMBHXCSB2kQ4dUDCAg&uact=5#sie=lg;/g/11fj6snmjm;2;/m/02_tc;st;fp;1;;) to just three points.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Guardiola was asked again about his potential managerial future – with a stint in Italy’s top division on the agenda considering he hasn’t coached there yet.

Guardiola spoke to [Sky in Italy](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11857143/pep-guardiola-open-to-italy-move-after-man-city-reign), with the Spaniard open to the possibility of moving to Serie A in the future:

“Training in Italy? Why not. It was a pleasure \[to be there\] as a player, with the great \[Carlo\] Mazzone \[former Brescia manager\]. I had a great time and I love the country but now I feel good in England, it’s a great championship. But maybe yes, I’m not that old.”

As a result, supporters were quick to reply and dismiss the speculation ahead of a crucial game:

> This was said in his bt interview ‘what I wore.’ Was said tongue in cheek because the presenter asked him if he ever would, but typically brought to media attention before Sunday…

> I swear this is an older story. And it’s just been repeated after the Atalanta game. Sky are recycling heavy here.
