# Manchester City: Fans discuss club gesture of refunding tickets for fans who ‘feel unhappy’ about attending Real Madrid

**According to a report from the [Manchester Evening News](https://t.co/ZYk8Uo4Ci2?amp=1), the Sky Blues have offered to refund match-going fans who don’t feel happy about attending the Real Madrid clash due to the outbreak of coronavirus – with many supporters since discussing the gesture online.**

Pep Guardiola’s side take on Real Madrid for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next week, leading [2-1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUmB5LjW1kk&feature=onebox) from their first leg at the Bernabeu courtesy of a memorable performance, becoming only the third English team to win on that ground ([Arsenal, Liverpool, City](https://ghanasoccernet.com/city-3rd-english-team-to-beat-real-madrid-at-bernabeu-after-arsenal-liverpool)).

With the second half of the tie fast approaching, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, what should have been a memorable occasion has now been thrown into a safety debate – with the club now offering to refund supporters who don’t feel safe attending the match. While this could be perceived as a generous gesture, that hasn’t stopped fans from debating the notion on Twitter – but one of them did say that this highlights ‘[exactly why we are different class](https://twitter.com/davethompson63/status/1237811955542433792?s=21)‘.
