# Manchester City: Fans ecstatic over links with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez

**According to a report from [InterNews.it via Man City Xtra](https://twitter.com/city_xtra/status/1206978697951088641?s=21), representatives of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez and Manchester City met in London to discuss potential terms in bringing the Argentine to Eastlands – with the Sky Blues looking like they’ll have to pay a [€111m](https://www.fcinternews.it/esclusive/fcin-barca-united-city-e-psg-per-lautaro-c-e-la-fila-clausola-pagata-e-ricchi-ingaggi-se-non-rinnova-325829) (£94.3m) release clause for his signature.**

Martinez, who has bagged [eight goals in 14 starts](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/299344/Show/Lautaro-Mart%C3%ADnez) for the San Siro side in the Italian first division so far this campaign, has been drawing attention from numerous [top clubs in Europe](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10531509/manchester-united-transfer-news-lautaro-martinez-inter-milan/).

Now, according to [this latest report](https://twitter.com/city_xtra/status/1206978697951088641?s=21), City could be leading the way for his signature in their bid to land a potential successor to legend Sergio Aguero.

Gabriel Jesus, who recently scored multiple goals in the encounters against [Burnley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FNwVnEd7J8&feature=onebox) and [Dinamo Zagreb](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8GMxlTFpBk&feature=onebox), will need competition in the future – with Martinez seeming, for now, like a safe bet.

Supporters on Twitter also reacted ecstatically to the news – here’s what they had to say.
