# Manchester City: Fans fume at Sadio Mane for recent ‘diver’ response

**Ahead of their hugely anticipated trip to Anfield this weekend, neither side has pulled any punches in regards to the media, with the Pep Guardiola-Sadio Mane diving saga showing no sign of ending.**

The Sky Blues have a chance to [reduce the gap at the top of the table to three points](https://www.google.com/search?q=premier+league+table&rlz=1C1DVJR_enGB846GB846&oq=premier+league+table&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i59l2j69i60l3.2926j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#sie=lg;/g/11fj6snmjm;2;/m/02_tc;st;fp;1;;) with victory at Liverpool, whilst also putting an end to their long unbeaten run on Merseyside – [stretching back to April 2017](https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1DVJR_enGB846GB846&sxsrf=ACYBGNSEOXGKQvVpJdtwUybYZNBOTQcUcQ%3A1573130542345&ei=LhHEXdHVFNuM1fAPw8KZoAQ&q=liverpool+crystal+palace+2017&oq=liverpool+crystal+pala&gs_l=psy-ab.1.5.0l2j0i20i263j0l7.51614.55909..57548...1.1..0.87.1589.22......0....1..gws-wiz.....10..0i71j35i362i39j35i39j0i67j0i131i67j35i39i70i253j0i131.jBFFuMbsMrU#sie=m;/g/11hcz4nr_8;2;/m/02_tc;dt;fp;1;;).

In the build up to City’s most crucial game of the season so far, manager Guardiola [recently took a swipe at Reds star Mane](https://talksport.com/football/625897/man-city-boss-pep-guardiola-sadio-mane-liverpool-diver/), accusing the Senegalese forward of being a diver.

Responding to the accusations, [as quoted by the Guardian via City Chief](https://twitter.com/City_Chief/status/1192263815364272129), Mane seemed unfazed by the Spaniard’s choice of words and open about the fact he could potentially simulate a penalty in future.

“If it could be a penalty for sure I will ‘dive’ again. If the dive will give me a penalty then I will do it to get it back. Why not? But what Jürgen said is correct. I do not dive.”

In response, City supporters did not hold back, having their say below.

> Is that not a straight up admission to cheating.
