# Manchester City: Fans gush over Leroy Sane clip from 2017 Burnley clash

**Before Premier League action was [suspended](https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-english-football-fixtures-suspended-until-april-over-covid-19-11956889) due to the coronavirus outbreak, Manchester City were due to take on Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday – with this clip of Leroy Sane’s goal from back in 2017 resulting in supporters gushing.**

The German winger, who has been [pictured](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/picture-special/2020/january/man-city-v-man-united-pre-carabao-cup-training-28-jan) back in training recently, could have started the encounter if it wasn’t for the league’s suspension – with the club’s [official account](https://twitter.com/xxpacio/status/1238073133107761152?s=21) posting a throwback to Sane’s last significant contribution at home to the Clarets back in 2017. The Sky Blues were flying early on during their famous 2017/2018 Centurions campaign, with Pep Guardiola’s side steamrolling Burnley at the Etihad Stadium during a rampant [3-0 victory](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41618798). To seal all three points, youngster Sane took advantage of a superbly waited pass and slotted the ball past Nick Pope for City’s third goal of the game.

Reacting to the throwback, many supporters have flocked to worship Sane – highlighting him as the ‘[most underrated](https://twitter.com/xxpacio/status/1238073133107761152?s=21)‘ player in the City team whilst gushing over his ‘[electric pace](https://twitter.com/beemuchena/status/1238112846543835137?s=21)‘.
