# Manchester City: Fans gush over ‘phenomenal’ Rodri performance against Burnley

The Spaniard commanded City’s midfield with style during their[4-1 dismantling of the Clarets](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50554016) at Turf Moor, consistently regaining possession and inserting a calming presence with his slick range and composure on the ball.

On top of that, Rodri also bagged one of the Sky Blues’ goals of the season so far as just reward for his brilliant efforts – [half volleying a thunderous shot](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-rodri-goal-sterling-17360718) from outside the area past a helpless Nick Pope to put City firmly in control.
