# Manchester City: Fans hail Kevin De Bruyne following crucial run of form

**Kevin De Bruyne was Manchester City’s key asset during their famed Centurions season, making [36 appearances and grabbing a remarkable 16 assists and eight goals](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73084/History/Kevin-De-Bruyne) from midfield in the Premier League – but the season afterwards, where the Sky Blues managed to haul a domestic quadruple, he was largely missing due to injury.**

However, after starting this campaign with the vigour and class City supporters have come to expect from the Belgian, supporters are back praising the 28-year-old for his key performances which have, arguably, kept Pep Guardiola’s side competing in an uphill title race with Liverpool.

The Belgium international showcased a dazzling display in his [last outing at Burnley](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1376057/Live/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Burnley-Manchester-City), proving to be the main creative force alongside David Silva and Rodri, and that isn’t the only time he’s impressed this season.

De Bruyne is already on[nine assists this campaign](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73084/History/Kevin-De-Bruyne), over half way to bettering his record from 2017/2018, and supporters have recognised just how crucial he has been.

Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.

> De Bruyne has got the Yaya Toure of 2013 swag about him this season. Bursting runs and bullying players with the ball. He’s at the forefront of every attack.
