# Manchester City: Fans hail Sergio Aguero’s 2015 five-goal haul against Newcastle United

**Responding to a throwback by Twitter account [City Chief](https://twitter.com/city_chief/status/1239270033278349314?s=21), many Sky Blues supporters have flocked to hail Sergio Aguero’s 2015 performance during the [6-1 hammering](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34366600) of Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium – a match where the Argentine netted five goals in just 20 minutes.**

Aguero, who became the club’s all-time top goalscorer back in [2017,](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2017/october/manchester-city-sergio-aguero-breaks-club-goalscoring-record) has since gone on to consistently bag for the Sky Blues under manager Pep Guardiola – netting 16 Premier League goals over 17 starts at the Etihad Stadium this season ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/14260/Show/Sergio-Ag%C3%BCero)). However, despite the Argentine’s consistent form, that hasn’t been the talking point among these Sky Blues – with City Chief’s post drawing particular attention to his heroic display against Newcastle back in[2015](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34366600). The 31-year-old netted five strikes in just 20 minutes against Steve McClaren’s Magpies, with the 6-1 mauling temporarily putting City back at the top of the table before Leicester City eventually went on to win the title.

In response, Sky Blues fans labelled it a ‘[privilege](https://twitter.com/ben88288624/status/1239289550725357569)‘ to watch the performance – drawing particular emphasis to the fact he ‘[couldn’t seem to miss](https://twitter.com/ManCity_FanView/status/1239283570621001730)‘. > If Aguero stayed on he would of broke records that day. He just couldn’t seem to miss.

> Then Pellegrini brought him off. I’m still convinced he could’ve bagged 6 or 7 that game.
