# Manchester City: Fans issue transfer demands ahead of January window

**Last weekend’s 3-1 loss to title rivals Liverpool was a huge blow for Manchester City in the race for another Premier League crown, and now supporters think January could provide an answer.**

Early goals from [Fabinho and Mohamed Salah](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LhcTGafSgw) gave City a mountain to climb, and while they pressed the issue and created chances of their own, the Reds ultimately sealed a crucial win when [Sadio Mane scored the third](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LhcTGafSgw) shortly after half time.

Bernardo Silva[grabbed a stunning consolation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LhcTGafSgw), but it was too little too late as the current Premier League champions succumbed to defeat.

Now, ahead of a looming January transfer window, City supporters have issued a wish list – stating who they think Pep Guardiola should add to an injury-hit squad.

And the pressing concern seems to be in defence – with the Citizens [failing to adequately replace](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/manchestercity/pep-guardiola-man-city-could-not-afford-to-buy-vincent-kompany-replacement-a4226426.html) legend Vincent Kompany after his departure to Anderlecht.

Kalidou Koulibaly is a huge name [that has been rumoured](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/media-watch/2019/october/man-city-transfer-news-latest-ruben-dias-kalidou-koulibaly-toni-duggan) to be the answer to City’s centre-back dilemma, while some fans want to see the likes of Milan Skriniar or Ruben Dias.
