# Manchester City: Fans laud Bernardo Silva after his tweet about 2018/19 success

**Plenty of Manchester City fans took the chance to hail “unstoppable” winger Bernardo Silva as he reflected on the club’s enormous success in 2018/19.**

Their [FA Cup final thrashing of Watford](https://www.skysports.com/football/man-city-vs-watford/report/406801) a year ago yesterday sealed a [fourth domestic trophy of the campaign](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-city/erfolge/verein/281), adding to the Community Shield, Carabao Cup and Premier League, and the Portugal forward basked in that success via his Twitter profile [@BernardoCSilva](https://twitter.com/BernardoCSilva/status/1262386813500641281).

The 25-year-old was voted the [club’s Player of the Season](https://www.mancity.com/news/first-team/first-team-news/2019/may/bernardo-voted-etihad-player-of-the-season) for that extraordinary campaign and he was also included in the [PFA Team of the Year](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48028713) and [shortlisted for the 2019 Ballon D’Or](https://www.goal.com/en-ie/lists/ballon-dor-2019-messi-ronaldo-van-dijk-set-to-head-up-list-of-30-/1ac0k3mdohx5y1rjinc2y98lv3#q74eghxwoexb1ovja8498043l). He ended the 2018/19 season with [13 goals and 14 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bernardo-silva/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/241641) in all competitions.

Among Bernardo’s standout contributions last term were [two assists in the FA Cup final](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3174643) against Watford, the opening goal in the [2-0 win away to Manchester United](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/04/24/manchester-united-vs-manchester-city-premier-league-live-score/) in the Premier League title run-in and three goal involvements ([one goal, two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3135807)) in a 7-0 Champions League drubbing of Schalke 04. His successful season didn’t end there as he was named [Player of the Tournament](https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/news/newsid=2609449.html) in Portugal’s UEFA Nations League triumph in early June.
