# Manchester City: Fans offer Mikel Oyarzabal as cheeky alternative to Leroy Sane

**According to a report from German newspaper[Bild via AS](https://en.as.com/en/2019/12/02/football/1575301641_352727.html), Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring Real Sociedad winger and previous Manchester City [reported targe](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10233300/man-city-spain-oyarzabal-bayern-leroy-sane/)t Oyarzabal amid a potential January swoop – prompting some Sky Blues supporters to insist that the Bavarian club snap up the winger in place of long time target Leroy Sane.**

Bayern have been linked with a move for City star Sane [since the summer](https://talksport.com/football/579228/manchester-city-bayern-munich-niko-kovac-confident-leroy-sane-signing/)but now supporters have made a last-ditch effort to sway the German giants from trying to prise the winger away from Manchester. Fans, replying to a post from [Man City Xtra](https://twitter.com/tshiamomrg/status/1215402136118484992?s=21), have attempted to pull the wool over Bayern’s eyes by claiming Oyarzabal is a better fit for them. When comparing their stats, it’s clear Sane has the edge over the Spaniard – amassing more dribbles per game ([1.8](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/144711/History/Leroy-San%C3%A9)) and registering [more goals and assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/144711/History/Leroy-San%C3%A9) from the wing last season – even with Oyarzabal’s impressive 13 strikes and two assists during the 2018/2019 season, [as per WhoScored.com.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/298839/History/Mikel-Oyarzabal)

Despite this, City supporters have still attempted to deceive Bayern into taking Oyarzabal instead – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.

> Yea [@FCBayern](https://twitter.com/FCBayern?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) this lad is miles above Sane!!\
