# Manchester City: Fans praise Joao Cancelo after Everton win

**Bouncing back from a harrowing [3-2 defeat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtdjPcLMP5Y) away to Wolves, Manchester City have secured two much-needed wins on the trot – overcoming Everton [2-1 in their latest outing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfF-72pkxvI) thanks to a brace from Gabriel Jesus.**

The Brazilian striker netted two second-half goals in quick succession as they eventually buried the Toffees and halted Carlo Ancelotti’s momentum as manager, with Richarlison’s goal back providing a nervy ending to proceedings.

However, away from Jesus following his sensational impact, one man has also taken his fair share of the plaudits from the New Year’s Day encounter – with full-back Joao Cancelo getting a warm reception from fans during the 90 minutes.

Cancelo, who signed from Juventus in a [£60 million deal](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7843455/Pep-Guardiola-hails-Joao-Cancelo-60m-man-shines-Everton-victory.html) last summer, has had to work hard for game time due to the form of fellow right-back Kyle Walker – but now some supporters think he should be starting more regularly over the Englishman.

Here’s what they had to say on Twitter surrounding his performance.
