The [Spain midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodri/profil/spieler/357565) recorded some excellent statistics in his [first Champions League game for the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodri/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357565/verein/281), not least a 100% passing accuracy, having found a team-mate with every one of his 82 passes. \[[via WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1426916/Live/Europe-UEFA-Champions-League-2019-2020-Shakhtar-Donetsk-Manchester-City)\]

No other player on the pitch completed more passes than Rodri, who also had four successful dribbles, four successful tackles, two interceptions and one clearance. \[[via WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1426916/Live/Europe-UEFA-Champions-League-2019-2020-Shakhtar-Donetsk-Manchester-City)\]

Last night’s performance continues an impressive start to his Manchester City career following his [club-record £62.8m arrival](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48859841) in the summer, having [started all but one of their matches so far this season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodri/leistungsdaten/spieler/357565) and posted an overall [passing success rate of 94.7%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/303139/Show/Rodrigo).

These Manchester City fans on Twitter were highly complimentary about Rodri’s display against Shakhtar:
