# Manchester City: Fans react as Oleksandr Zinchenko injury scuppers deal for Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico

**Speaking in his [press conference](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tagliafico-bernardo-silva-laporte-injuries-19027552), Man City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko could be out for around ‘2-3′ weeks as he has picked up an injury again – coming after the Sky Blues’ resounding [3-0 Carabao Cup last 16 win at Burnley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIe06Fu6AOY&feature=onebox) on Wednesday evening.**

A brace from Raheem Sterling and a first goal for new summer signing Ferran Torres helped Guardiola’s side to victory at Turf Moor, responding correctly after a dismal 5-2 Premier League defeat at home to Leicester City.

In what has been a fairly optimistic few days since the thrashing, with City completing a [£65 million swoop for Ruben Dias](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54331554#:~:text=Manchester%20City%20have%20signed%2023,way%20for%20%C2%A313.7m.) before cruising into the League Cup quarter-finals, Zinchenko’s fitness issues could scupper an all-important deal for a new left-back.

Mundo Deportivo journalist [Francesc Aguilar](https://twitter.com/FApor_elmundo/status/1311394588456878085) hinted that signing Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico could rely on offloading the Ukrainian to Barcelona, potentially on a loan deal.

Now, the 23-year-old’s spell on the sidelines could spell danger for a Tagliafico move, prompting these Sky Blues to curse their luck in outrage on social media – find all of their best comments down below.
