# Manchester City: Fans react to Angelino’s comments

**Fans of Manchester City have been reacting to a post on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/City_Xtra/status/1369056318120689665), which relayed recent comments made by former City left-back, Angelino.**

Angelino [joined Manchester City’s youth setup](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelino/transfers/spieler/277179) back in 2013 and went on to make just [15 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelino/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/277179) for the first team over [two spells with the club](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelino/transfers/spieler/277179), before joining Leipzig in an [€18 million (£16 million) deal](https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/man-citys-angelino-set-to-join-rb-leipzig-in-16m-deal-after/tbt1ixveojqs1n896kq0c82j5) earlier this season.

And, speaking in an interview with [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11096/12239885/angelino-talks-julian-nagelsmann-pep-guardiola-trent-alexander-arnold-and-more-in-frank-interview-with-leipzig-man), the RB Leipzig defender discussed the differences between his former manager, Pep Guardiola, and his current boss, Julian Nagelsmann, with the 24-year-old claiming that “one gave me confidence and played me, the other didn’t”.

The [£31.5 million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/angelino/marktwertverlauf/spieler/277179) Spaniard’s comments followed on from his [previous remarks](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/feb/24/angelino-takes-aim-at-guardiola-over-treatment-manchester-city-rb-leipzig) about his frustrations at City, in which the left-back claimed Guardiola “killed” him, before suggesting that he was “judged on two games in pre-season”.

However, after [City Xtra](https://twitter.com/City_Xtra/status/1369056318120689665) relayed Angelino’s comments on Twitter, fans of Manchester City flocked to have their say on the matter, with many stating their belief that the reason the left-back was not played more often by Guardiola was down to the simple fact he was not good enough.
