Aouar is currently enjoying a fine season with Lyon, with the central midfielder [scoring three goals and providing three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/houssem-aouar/leistungsdaten/spieler/395693) over 25 Ligue 1 appearances, in addition to a [further goal and three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/houssem-aouar/leistungsdaten/spieler/395693) from five Champions League fixtures, as well as another [five goals and one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/houssem-aouar/leistungsdaten/spieler/395693) across seven games in the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.

The [£49.5million-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/houssem-aouar/profil/spieler/395693) 21-year-old has averaged a remarkable [WhoScored match rating of 7.02](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322096/Show/Houssem-Aouar) in the league this season, as well as an even more incredible [7.73 rating](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322096/Show/Houssem-Aouar) in the Champions League; performances that have contributed to the French U21 international becoming one of the most sought after prospects in European football.

One of the clubs reportedly seeking Aouar’s signature is Manchester City, who, according to French publication [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-city-now-moving-concretely-player-chance-train-guardiola-appealing/)), are now ‘‘moving more concretely’ with their interest in recent months.
