# Manchester City: Fans blast potential £62.3m Mikel Oyarzabal signing

**After a summer that was largely dominated by the [Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich transfer saga](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2019/08/01/manchester-city-put-137million-price-tag-leroy-sane-amid-bayern/) from Manchester City’s perspective, rumours have been flying from all over as to who the Sky Blues could sign as a potential replacement for the German – with this latest whisper from[El Confidencial via Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/city_xtra/status/1205091676836057088?s=21) prompting hilarious reactions.**

Mikel Oyarzabal, who bagged [13 goals and two assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/298839/History/Mikel-Oyarzabal) from midfield last campaign, is reportedly back on City’s radar as Pep Guardiola ‘knows’ the player can perform for a big team – especially since he is continuing that form this season with [five strikes and four assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/298839/History/Mikel-Oyarzabal) already.

It seems clear that the Spaniard could potentially offer Guardiola’s side an outlet similar to Sane [judging by his stats](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/298839/History/Mikel-Oyarzabal), not to mention the 22-year-old still has many years ahead of him.

However, despite the potential, City supporters haven’t exactly taken to the rumours with much enthusiasm – roasting the youngster on Twitter.
