# Manchester City: Harry Kane update has many Sky Blues talking

**Flocking to Twitter, many Manchester City supporters have been left in full debate following a transfer update involving Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.**

It is no secret that sporting director Txiki Begiristain and manager Pep Guardiola had their eyes on the England star over last summer, with the latter man even confirming their interest in a press conference ([BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58114039)).

However, despite bids being lodged according to [reliable sources](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12337836/harry-kane-man-city-make-100m-transfer-bid-for-tottenham-striker), they weren’t enough to tempt Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy into a sale as City ended the window without a star striking addition.

As such, the 28-year-old now appears in limbo at Spurs and is currently undergoing a rough patch of form having scored [just once in the Premier League so far.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/83532/Show/Harry-Kane)

This has lead to accusations by pundits that he is ‘[sulking](https://talksport.com/football/972710/tottenham-bench-harry-kane-man-utd-daniel-levy-january-transfer/)‘ after his failed move to Eastlands, but according to journalist Stuart Brennan of The Manchester Evening News, Kane may get another chance to swap Tottenham for City.

As per his sources, writing in a piece for [the MEN](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-transfers-haaland-dortmund-22040179), City ‘would still move’ for Kane if Levy ‘budges from his refusal’ to sell – either in January or ‘more likely’ next summer.

Flocking to this update, many Sky Blues have been in full debate – with some preferring other options and targets, like Erling Braut Haaland, due to their[younger age and prolific record.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/erling-haaland/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/418560)

Meanwhile, some are still excited by the prospect of signing Kane – leaving little wonder given his phenomenal haul of [23 goals and 14 assists in 35 Premier League starts last season.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/83532/History/Harry-Kane)
